In Week one, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa were quite literally on the brink of elimination. With a salsa to Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul,” they earned only 10 out of 20 as the gymnast kicked off her dance journey. Commenting on her performance, judge Derek Hough said, “Just right out of the gate, all the flips and tricks – fantastic…but let’s be mindful moving forward that we recognize the dances, keep the integrity of what Latin dancing is.” However, today, as the two took to the stage again, the theme was TikTok Night, and they chose “Anxiety” by Doechii. And boy, they put on a stunning show.

It was an outstanding performance that even DWTS’ official X handle penned, “We were all watching Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa’s powerhouse #TikTokNight Tango, and there was no anxiety in sight! 💪 😮‍💨 #DWTS.” The two performed a tango to the song and scored 24 points out of 30.

When they danced again in Week 2, it was to save Jordan from going home. On “One-Hit Wonders” night, Jordan and Ezra performed a Jive to “Maniac” by Michael Sembello. Their energy and precision earned them a score of 22 out of 30. Yet, their week three performance could certainly save the pair from elimination.

This was the highest score the duo got in all three weeks of the show. The Olympian thought these dance routines would have been easier for her to pull off. But after the performance, she admitted the routine was “very difficult”. But in a very Jordan Chiles fashion, she also promised to stay at the top of the leaderboard this week. After her routine, she broke down in tears and said she felt “relieved” to let go of her emotion.

Judge Bruno Tonioli, who gave her only a score of 5 in week 1 and said, “You can’t just hit it, you have to express it. Couple of things you have to work at, but very, very good first performance,” was impressed by Jordan today. He called her today’s performance “clean, clear, powerful [and] focused,” before declaring it her “best dance yet.

Interestingly, Chiles not only impressed the judges, but she also got her fandom pondering over her tango skills.

Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa’s week 3 shenanigans had their fans in frenzy!

Flocking to the comment section, many fans expressed their elation for Chiles and Sosa’s incredible tango routine. One fan said, “Oh Jordan you ARE THAT GIRLLLLLLLLL,” referring to her iconic ‘I’m that Girl’ motto. Jordan Chiles picked up this phrase from Beyoncé’s song after going to her Renaissance Tour and watching the documentary.

One fan even highlighted their week 1’s performance (where the pair ended up having no.9 spot on leaderboard), and added, “When people were trashing ezra’s choreo week one he really took that personally #dwts.” While another fan noted, “I was right! Jordan got her confidence back! #DWTS.” Where’s the lie? After the week 1 performance, the two of them have been so back.

Escaping elimination in Week 2, she was called Tina Turner (Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll) by Judge Carrie Ann. Even after today’s performance, Ann complimented, “That was an example of how to be smooth and fierce!” Nevertheless, the duo clinched a perfect 8 from all the judges, making their total 24. Referring to this instance, one fan commented, “Jordan Chiles you ATE up those EIGHTS! Stop that anxiety out of the ballroom! #DWTS.”

Perhaps, the UCLA gymnast was able to deliver an outstanding performance, that not only saved her from elimination, but also made her stand atop the podium in week 3. Now, as Chiles and Sosa are all set to enter week 4, the pair might bring more electric routines to maintain their position on leaderboard, don’t you think?
