‘The Longest Wait of Your Life Is Over’- WWE Superstar Dwayne Johnson Sends a Message to Tokyo Olympics Bound Athletes

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 will start on July 24th as athletes around the world look to showcase their talents in Tokyo. As usual, the USA, China, Australia are some of the leading contenders to shine in Japan this time around. Meanwhile, the US national team received some good wishes from a special personality; former WWE superstar, the Rock. Dwayne Johnson has wished team USA as the athletes look to bring home another haul of medals.

The Rock is one of the most famous WWE superstars in the history of its business. After having a successful career in pro wrestling, Johnson took his interest to Hollywood and became successful as well.

The Rock wishes Team USA

Team USA looks to lead the medal tally this year. They won 121 medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics as they look to lead the table yet again. But Rock wishing team USA was unique as the opening ceremony proves to be a grand event, come tomorrow.

“To all our Team USA Olympic athletes, In 24 hrs, the longest wait of your lives is over and the culmination of your hard-earned blood, sweat, and tears has finally arrived. It is my privilege and honor to introduce all of you to the world kicking off the opening ceremonies of the Olympics,” said Johnson.

Rock’s message is quite clear about preparing athletes for the games despite the ongoing pandemic. The actor who is the perfect brand ambassador wrote a perfect tribute for Team USA ahead of the Olympics. The opening ceremony starts at 7:00 AM E.S.T on July 23rd.

US athletes to shine in Tokyo Olympics

Team USA is heading to the Olympics with several outstanding athletes. Simone Biles leads the contention for gymnastics. She has already become one of the greatest gymnasts of the world with her incredible performances in Rio and other world championship events.

Looking at the Track and Field events, Noah Lyles is the outright favorite to win the 100-meter and 200-meter races in Tokyo. Allyson Felix leads the female contention in Japan for athletics.

Despite Michael Phelps not performing as a swimmer, he is set to return as a commentator in this year’s Olympics. However, Caeleb Dressel is the favorite to sweep past the swimming events and win seven gold medals this time. Katie Ledecky is another interesting talent who looks to dominate the Tokyo Olympics. Megan Rapinoe, Kevin Durant are other famous sporting personalities to grace the venues in Tokyo.

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 is set to begin with a bang. The Rock wishing the athletes must have given them the motivation to perform well. Despite that, the athletes look to perform well for their country in Japan.
