Zach Harting Encounters Wholesome Moment En Route to Training Camp for Tokyo Olympics 2021

Representing your country at the Olympics is always a proud moment. Emotions take center stage and athletes put in their maximum effort in order to bring glory to their nation. These guys put in sheer hardwork, and sometimes a little appreciation goes a long way in boosting their confidence levels. US Olympic team swimmer Zach Harting encountered one such moment recently.
Zach Harting is just 23 years old, but he has already punched his ticket to Tokyo Olympics 2021. Harting is an acclaimed swimmer who is all set to make his debut, but he is currently in Oahu, Hawaii attending the training camp prior to the Summer Games.

The US Olympic Swimming trials wrapped up on June 20 in Omaha, Nebraska. The entire Olympic roster was announced later, and the athletes headed to Hawaii in order to prepare for the summer games.
The swimming team will prepare in Hawaii from June 27th to July 12th. The US Olympic swimming team has 53 athletes, out of which 35 are first-time Olympians. Zach Harting is one of them.

Harting is quite active on Twitter where he constantly posts updates about his events and everything. The Alabama native recently posted a tweet about an incident that he encountered with a couple during his flight to Hawaii.
So on my flight to Hawaii, a newly married couple sitting next to me noticed my Olympic Team Handbook when filling out declaration forms, asked if I was going to the Games, I said yes… and the husband thanked me for my hard work and for representing the US. 🥺😩🥺😭

With the emojis that he’s added, one can assume that Harting was absolutely floored by the gesture. A little appreciation goes a long way, and for a first-time Olympian like Harting, it is bound to lift up his spirits!
Which event will Harting participate in at the Olympics?

Zach Harting will compete in the 200m butterfly, a signature event of Michael Phelps. Harting won the 200m fly at the Olympic trials and punched his ticket to Tokyo. Just like Phelps, Harting has made this his signature event.
However, he’d have massive shoes to fill as Michael Phelps utterly dominated this event whenever he took part. Phelps won 10 major international gold medals in this event.

Harting might be a newcomer to the Olympics, but he has already won medals in World Championships and other events. He leads the 200m fly for the USA in the post-Phelps era.
