More than just high-stakes races among 36 of the world’s best female athletes, the event will also comprise a full-blown entertainment experience featuring a music festival.

Athlos NYC 2025: Top Athletes Competing

One shall note that this year’s Athlos has expanded to include a field event, which includes a long jump. Sadly, a few couldn’t participate in Ohanian’s second edition of the track & field event, including Gabby Thomas, as the 200m Olympic champion continues her recovery from injury. Similar would be the case for Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, who also withdrew from the competition just days ago. Then again, fans can still look forward to a lineup full of star athletes:

Athlos NYC 2025: Prize Money & Bonuses

Perhaps one of the biggest attractions for the Athlos NYC among the athletes is their generous purse of a whopping $663,000, which is even regarded as the largest ever for a women-only track event. even the prestigious Diamond League, one of the sport’s flagship global series, awards just $30,000 to the winner of its season finale. Athlos NYC, you ask? An entirely different level!

In the standard payout structure, the winner of each event will pocket $60,000. The runner-up and third-place finishers will receive $25,000 and $10,000, respectively, while athletes placing fourth through sixth will earn $8,000, $5,000, and $2,500. Reinforcing its athlete-first philosophy, Athlos NYC has also pledged to distribute 10% of all event revenue among every competitor.

It doesn’t end here; there’s a staggering $250,000 world record bonus on the line for any athlete who manages to break a global mark. Which reminds us, during the previous inaugural edition, 200m Olympic bronze medalist Brittany Brown walked away as the biggest earner, collecting $85,000 in total for just over 33 seconds of racing. $25,000 was pocketed for finishing second in the 100m and $60,000 for winning the 200m.

Even the payment process has been upgraded this year. After all, to recall, the 2024 edition saw the participants wait three business days to receive their prize money, something co-founder Alexis Ohanian vowed to improve. To deliver on that promise, Athlos NYC has teamed up with Cash App as its official payments partner, ensuring instant payouts. “This year, Cash App is enabling immediate prize payments for all eligible athletes the moment results are confirmed,” Ohanian announced, calling it “a faster future” for the sport.
