ONE Championship’s first fight card of the year, ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov on Prime Video, was loaded with action from start to finish when it went down from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, this past weekend. Fights were decided by narrow margins here and impressive finishes there, keeping the crowd in attendance and viewers around the world on the edge of their seats throughout the evening.

With 2023 scheduled to be another stacked 12 months for ONE, we take a look at three fights to make this year for the biggest winners at ONE Fight Night 6.

#1 Chingiz Allazov vs. Giorgio Petrosyan

If anyone is capable of taking on a legend right after taking out a legend, it is newly crowned ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Chingiz “Chinga” Allazov. The Azerbaijani-Belarusian striker earned possibly the biggest scalp of his resume when he put Thai striking dynamo Superbon Singha Mawynn to sleep to claim the coveted crown in the evening’s main event.

Allazov attacked with typical aggression from the opening bell, crashing waves of combinations down on a rather patient Superbon. When the second round commenced, he upped his tempo every time he advanced, eventually sending the defending champion to the canvas twice before a final knockdown kept him there for good. 

Of course, this comes after his run of victories that saw him defeat Samy “AK47” Sana, “Smokin” Jo Nattawut, and Sitthichai “Killer Kid” Sitsongpeenong – who are all considered superstars of the sport. But there’s another featherweight kickboxing legend he must face to seal his legacy as a pound-for-pound great, Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan.

The Italian-Armenian kickboxing GOAT is waiting to return to the Circle after suffering a devastating KO at the hands of Superbon. If Allazov is searching for his next giant to slay, Petrosyan should be his top pick.

#2 Stamp Fairtex vs. Allycia Hellen Rodrigues/Janet Todd

Stamp Fairtex’s scheduled mixed-rules bout with Anissa “C18” Meksen at ONE Fight Night 6 suffered an abrupt cancellation when the French-Algerian striking ace failed to attend the weigh-ins for last weekend’s show. But in the long run, it may have served to benefit the three-sport superstar in her quest for another ONE World Title.

Stamp has focused her attention on MMA for the last couple of years, and she has excelled greatly in the sport. But after scoring an emphatic win in a kickboxing match with Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak that was confirmed just 24 hours before fight night, the former ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World champion showed that her best weapons remain in her fists and legs. 

So, it would make sense to pit her against the winner of Janet “JT” Todd and Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, who will meet at some point this year to unify the atomweight Muay Thai crown. Neither athlete would mean an easy night for Stamp, but if she focuses her training on the striking arts in preparation, there’d be no doubting her chances in the World Title showdown.

#3 Aung La N Sang vs Reinier de Ridder

Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang has his eyes on regaining one of the World Titles he once owned. And if his performance last weekend was anything to go by, he could very well see himself competing in a five-round war over the next 12 months.

The equation to that is pretty simple. Aung La N Sang is coming off a quick finish of Gilberto “Giba” Galvao, owns a near 100 percent finishing rate in ONE, and remains a clear and present threat in the promotion’s stacked middleweight division.

Besides, Reinier “The Dutch Knight” de Ridder’s defeat to Anatoly “Sladkiy” Malykhin last December is proof that the Dutchman is, after all, beatable. If both fighters can put pen to paper, the trilogy showdown would be a perfect fit for ONE’s debut show in the U.S. in May, which is headlined by another trilogy match between Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes.
