This time an untimely death has shaken the MMA world as the fans mourn the passing of Iuri Lapicus. The Moldova-born fighter passed away in a road accident in Italy where he normally resides.

MMA expert Al Zullino posted the news on his Twitter account. He wrote, “Unfortunately, it’s true. As confirmed by @MrTudorLeonte, Italian MMA fighter Iuri Lapicus is dead after a motorcycle crash. Iuri was 27, had 14-2-1 NC record, and competed under the ONE banner, where he faced legends in the likes of  @Ealvarezfight and  @ChristianLeeMMA. RIP.”

Iuri Lapicus had a promising start in ONE Championship

The Moldova-born fighter had fought 5 times in the ONE Championship. The late fighter had 2 wins, 2 losses, and 1 no contest in his 5 fights. Moreover, his resume read an impressive 14-0 before his first loss to Christian Lee.

Furthermore, his resume also included the likes of former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez (No contest) and Marat Gafurov (victory). However, he lost his last fight against Zebaztian Kadestam.
