Bubba Watson has been a consistent name on the PGA Tour since 2006. That’s when Watson joined the tour and he’s seen plenty of success since then. Over the years, Watson has been an inspiration for left-handed golfers, but the 42-year-old thinks he still has miles to go to be compared with someone like Tiger Woods.

Tiger Woods, as we all know, is a legend of the game. There is no golf fan who would talk against the talents of the 82-time PGA winner. Such has been his global impact on the sport and Woods has enjoyed memorable rivalries with guys like Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson.

While the Watson-Woods rivalry was not glorified like the others, these two players have played against each other a lot. Watson admires the quality of a player like Tiger Woods and recently admitted that he can never be put on the same pedestal as the 15-time major winner.

Bubba Watson does not want to be known as the king of the Travelers Championship

There is no player other than Bubba Watson whose name is more synonymous with the Travelers Championship. He loves this tournament more than any other and recently explained why he holds such an affinity as well.

Watson is currently the joint 54-hole leader at the Travelers Championship. The 42-year-old is looking to bring up his fourth trophy at this tournament, but he never lets overconfidence flood his mind and corrupt his game on the golf course.

“I expect to play good here,” Watson reflected on his confidence levels. “Now, winning it, that’s Tiger Woods level. I’m nowhere near Tiger Woods level. You know what I’m saying? That’s a Jack Nicklaus /Tiger Woods saying. No, to play good is one thing. And play good to you guys or the internet or the fans out here, I don’t know what ya’ll think playing good is, but I think a top 25 is playing good.”

Watson does not want to get too ahead of himself at the moment. He’s currently tied for the lead at the Travelers Championship going into the final round. Watson has placed himself in a solid position, but only time will tell if he can reign supreme at TPC River Highlands yet again.
