More High-Profile PGA Tour Players Commit to the 2022 Saudi International

The controversial Saudi International is all set to begin on February 3rd, 2022. Notably, the PGA Tour has granted permission to a few players to compete in this event. However, there are a few conditions a player must follow in the upcoming years. Initially, the PGA Tour was a bit skeptical about allowing its players as they feared for a rival league.
But the Saudi International is beginning with the association of the Asian Tour. Hence, there was a slight relief for the tour. Meanwhile, the controversial Saudi International is trying its best to get in top players. However, players like Rory McIlroy have denied the offer as they want to compete on the PGA Tour. Recently, Saudi International revealed a few big names, those of who will compete at the event.

Saudi International reveals the star players for the 2022 event
The PGA Tour has allowed its players to compete even though the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is all set to begin on the same date. However, they have asked the players to compete in this event in the next couple of years based on their appearances in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Hence, the good news for Saudi International is that there will be a few top players in the field.

In a recent tweet, Saudi International welcomed the players who have confirmed their availability for the event. So far, Patrick Reed, Tony Finau, Marc Leishman, Lucas Herbert, Cameron Smith, Viktor Perez, and Matthew Wolff have confirmed their place in the field.

Undoubtedly, the surprising names among them are Tony Finau and Patrick Reed. Initially, there was a lot of talk about players like Phil Mickelson, Ian Poulter, and others joining the event. However, they seem to have not committed to the event yet.
Hence, the organizers are still waiting for a few players to confirm their spots. But as of now, only these seven top players from the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour have committed to the event.
