On the 4th of July, the United States of America is celebrating its Independence day. In the wake of that, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz took to Twitter to talk about the occasion. He acknowledged all the men and women who fought to liberate America, centuries ago.

He even acknowledged the modern-day soldiers who fight to maintain peace in America and the world. Wentz wrote, “This day should forever be celebrated and held in high regard. Today, the work is far from finished, This 4th of July hits me differently.”

What else did Carson Wentz say?

He acknowledged that though America was officially freed in 1776, there were plenty of people who did not enjoy it. So, while he is grateful to the soldiers who fought for independence, he wants to see a day where all Americans can truly be free.

Interestingly, he is not the only one to express such sentiments. Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick also had quite a bit to say on the matter.

According to Carson Wentz, he has been quite ignorant of social issues. He noted that it was largely due to his upbringing, where he did not have much opportunity to broaden his horizons.

Coming back to NFL matters though, he is easily one of the best quarterbacks within the 10-yard line. In fact, he played a key role in helping the Eagles soar to an NFC East win.

In goal-to-go situations, Wentz ranked at No. 4 in the NFL behind Ryan Tannehill, Drew Brees, and Matt Ryan. However, Carson Wentz is only one man and he needs a proper team to back him up this season. Some have even compared him to the likes of Dak Prescott.

NFL analyst Colin Cowherd even said, “If you watch that game, Dak, and Wentz. Wentz had less of line, less receivers, less running back help, and dominated the game.”
