PIF, owners of Newcastle United are the richest in the world

The club ended its alliance with Mike Ashley who sold it to the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF); a company headed by Yasir Al-Rumayyan. They bought the club for 300 million pounds which sparked wild celebrations amongst Newcastle fans. PIF are the richest owners of a football club with reported funds of 320 billion pounds.

That’s staggering. Manchester City is placed second with 23.2 billion pounds while FC Red Bull Salzburg ranks third with 15.7 billion pounds, figures which pale in comparison. In the meantime, PSG ranks 8th with 6.5 billion pounds.
