World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has had an unfortunate past week. The Serbian ace lost the semifinal and the bronze medal match at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. He even withdrew from the mixed doubles match, citing a right shoulder injury.

Lately, there was an update in the schedule of Novak Djokovic. The Serb will not be competing at the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati. The troubles with his shoulder still continue and he is feeling exhausted after having played a number of tournaments this season.

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic spoke on this and stated, “Dear fans, I wanted to share with you that I am taking a bit longer to recover and recuperate after quite a physically taxing journey from Australia to Tokyo. Sadly, that means I won’t be ready to compete in Cincinnati this year so I’ll turn my focus and attention to US Open and spend some more time with family. See you in New York soon!”
