The Red Bull team suffered a setback when new recruit, Pierre Gasly hit the wall at Turn 9.  As a result of the severe damage to the RB15, there was speculation that Red Bull could wrap up early.

Backing up the claims were scenes of the team seemingly deconstructing their garage. As a result, many were under the impression that repairing Gasly’s car would take too long.

At the time of the incident, Gasly was on a long run just after the lunch break. However, the impact wrecked the car and ended the day early for the team.

Fortunately for them, team principal, Christian Horner confirmed that they will be present on the track tomorrow.

According to a tweet on their main account, Horner said, “Pierre’s pre-season test comes to an end in Barcelona with an unfortunate off this afternoon. These things happen and the main thing is that he is ok. We will be back on track tomorrow to make the most of our last day of running before Melbourne.”

He also confirmed that this time, it will be Max Verstappen who will be in the cockpit. All 10 teams are scrambling to get as much data as possible so that they can have an advantage when the season actually begins.

It is fortunate that Pierre Gasly is completely alright from the nasty incident. The incident occurred because Gasly had got a wheel on the grass and lost control subsequently. The impact ripped off the rear wing and the Frenchman was left to explain what happened.
