Tennis legend and former Australian Open winner Rod Laver is full of admiration for Roger Federer. In 2017, the Swiss maestro bagged two Grand Slam titles to take his career haul to 19. Now in 2018, Federer is dreaming of another big year on the ATP Tour circuit. The Australian Open is just a little more than a week from now and Federer will be confident of clinching his sixth crown.

Federer has a clear path as Andy Murray is out with injury. Meanwhile Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are fighting to be fit in time for the first Major of the season. Federer Is also eyeing the world number one spot. After ending the year as number two in the rankings, he will be keen to snatch the top spot away from Nadal.

3-time Aussie Open champion Rod Laver believes that Federer will be the one to watch. He said, “Roger at 36, he’s still playing as well as he did when he was 21,”. Laver also spoke about whether the ‘Big Four’s’ dominance would come to a close. To this end, he added: “It depends on how fit Djokovic and Murray are and whether Rafa and Roger can still stay and play the same as they have done The racquet has helped them, the speed and control they get on the ball.”
