And, most modern-day sporting heroes are not only aware of their social media following but also know how to cash in on it, quite literally.

The Spaniard is ninth on the list, earning $50,468.64 for every new social media post.

One of the most admired sports stars going around, Nadal has 10.5 million Instagram followers, comfortably more than Federer’s 8.1 million followers.

A stunning collapse after going two sets up in his semi-final clash against World No.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas saw him hurtling to a defeat in an absorbing five-setter. Though he hasn’t featured in any Tour events since, he will return at the Monte Carlo Masters with an eye on a successful title defense at Roland-Garros.

The list is topped by modern-day soccer great Cristiano Ronaldo, who earns an eye-popping $1,247,157 per social media post. The Portugal and Juventus forward has 274 million followers on Instagram.

His arch Argentinian rival Lionel Messi, who is nicknamed ‘The Flea’ for his unbelievable dribbling skills, is at No.2 in the list raking in $873,495 per post on his social media handles.
