Rosberg Finding it Hard to Keep the Faith in Verstappen

After his Monaco shenanigans resulted in a broken car in practice, many are questioning Max Verstappen and his talent. 2016 F1 world champion Nico Rosberg has admitted that he is fast losing faith in the Dutchman.

Rosberg’s comments came on the back of Max’s crash in FP3 for the Monaco Grand Prix. This was his fifth incident of 2018 in 6 races.

Onthe other side of the Red bull garage, Daniel Ricciardo raced to pole position and victory in Monte Carlo. Verstappen was forced to charge from the very back of the grid after his crash and a few penalties.

Coincidentally, It was a carbon copy of his 2016 crash. Now, Rosberg and other such F1 experts and pundits are wondering if Verstappen will ever learn.

“He was faster than Daniel Ricciardo and then he crashed at the dumbest moment,” the 2016 World Champion said.

“He had an almost identical crash in 2016.

“I wonder if Max is too confident – risking too much.

“If you’re doing that, there is no track that bites you in the ass more than Monaco.

“He hasn’t seemed to learn at all. It’s already the fifth time this year but it’s his fourth season in Formula 1.

“You can’t really say it’s inexperience.

“It’s a very dark moment for Max.

“At the moment everything is going wrong for him but I don’t have much hope for him anymore.”

The F1 paddock will soon be heading to  Montreal in 2 weeks time for the Canadian Grand Prix. Can Verstappen revive his season for his sake and Red Bull’s sake? He has already begun to ruffle feathers among Christian Horner and Dr. Helmut Marko.

But the other question is, if things go too far, will the Austrian marquee be willing to do another Kvyat? Will they seriously consider dropping him for one of the Toro Rosso boys?
