Ryder Cup 2020: Tiger Woods Is Doing Wonders for the U.S. Team Despite Injury Woes

The Ryder Cup 2020 is underway and Team U.S. has got off to a dream start. The squad looks unbeatable and the camaraderie is taking over Whistling Straits at the moment. All of it seems picture-perfect, the team, vice-captains, and the captain, but there is one man who is dearly missed at the Ryder Cup this year – Tiger Woods.
Woods is not at Whistling Straits as a member of the American team as he’s currently recovering from a single-car crash he suffered in February. The accident left him severely injured and forced him to sit out Ryder Cup 2020.
However, Tiger Woods is still an important member of the U.S. team despite missing all the action at Whistling Straits. He remains in touch with the captain and the team, playing an integral part in their success.

Tiger Woods sent a motivational message to Team U.S. the night before the Ryder Cup
The American team has lost its reputation as Ryder Cup dominators over the last few editions. Team Europe has massively stepped up its game and has come to Whistling Straits as defending champions. Hence, there’s massive pressure on the U.S. to get back to winning ways.
While Steve Stricker has assembled the best team he possibly could, he could not have Tiger Woods on board owing to his recovery timeline. However, the 15-time major champion is devoting most of his time trying to send bits of advice to the U.S. team, and Xander Schauffele recently revealed some of it:

“We’re all square, keep pushing,” Schauffele said Friday. “We got a nice message from Tiger last night, obviously we’re not gonna reveal what it said, but Pat and I knew we referred to it a few times today and we knew what we needed to do.”
While Schauffele didn’t mention what Woods said, we clearly know that he has motivated the team to go out and get the results. After Day 1, the odds are majorly tilting in the favor of the home team owing to their strong start.
