Sergio Aguero Becomes All-Time Top Scorer for Man City

Manchester City star Sergio Aguero broke Eric Brook’s 78-year record as City’s all-time top scorer. He edged past it when he scored the third goal in a 4-2 win over Napoli last November to top Brook’s 177 total.

Now, he has romped ahead to 200 goals after a left-footed strike in the Community Shield final against Chelsea. With this solid performance, he continues to rip apart the history books for the Club.

12 minutes into the new season, Aguero let rip and opened his 2018/19 account. He collected a short pass from England U-17 star Phil Foden. The Argentine wasted no time in scoring past former team-mate and compatriot Willy Caballero.

The 30-year old has already set several milestones for the Blues including his 12th hat-trick against Leicester earlier this year. This helped extend his lead at the top of the trebles list even further. So far, he has scored eight Premier League trebles, 3 behind Alan Shearer and 1 behind Robbie Fowler. However, Shearer’s 260 Premier League goals record will be hard to achieve for Kun. In his entire City career, he has managed to score 143 to date for the Blues in the League.

Sergio Aguero even buried it into the net in seven consecutive home games for City last season. In the process, he created yet another new record.

Now, he has already matched another Premier League record last term. His goal against Liverpool at home in September 2017 was his sixth consecutive goal against the Reds. He equalled former Gunner Thierry Henry’s record of six successive home goals against Aston Villa.

He has also become the Premier League’s highest non-European goal-scorer in that same game against Liverpool. To achieve this, he passed former United striker Dwight Yorke’s 123-goal tally. Yorke hailed from Trinidad and Tobago and played for a number of Premier League teams until his retirement in 2009.
