Since the second half of the 2019 season began, Scuderia Ferrari have been on an upsurge. A lot of their good form has been attributed to a new upgraded engine that they introduced in Monza. However, some teams, like Red Bull and Mercedes feel that there is something going on under the red hood

When the summer break ended, Ferrari went against the tide and opted not to introduce their upgrade, while the other engine suppliers did. Instead, they delayed it for Monza in the coming weekend, and it reaped handsome rewards,

However, it is worth noting that all their rivals are fairly suspicious of the upgraded power unit. It seems that everyone has whipped out their tinfoil hats and come out with various theories explaining Ferrari’s sudden meteoric rise. One suggests that Ferrari is generating more than the allowed kilowattage from the battery.

Red Bull are well-known for often running to the FIA when they feel that something fishy has taken place. The only question that now remains is, can Charles LeClerc and Ferrari continue their winning streak? Or will Red Bull and Mercedes catch up and give them a good fight.

The Austrian outfit played the strategic game by having their drivers take penalties in Spa and Monza. However the Marina Bay Street Circuit is far from a horsepower-oriented circuit. It’s twisty and technical, with 23 corners, and there is a demand for downforce and a solid chassis. In other words, this is a golden opportunity for Red Bull to thrive and reap the rewards.

Armed with the more powerful, low-mileage Honda Spec 4 PU, Red Bull hope to shine under the bright lights. The Scuderia’s low-downforce approach is unlikely to serve them well in Singapore, but it won’t stop them from going all out.
