Cristiano Ronaldo has a $200 million offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. Recently, Spanish publication Marca reported the player has accepted the offer and will play in Saudi Arabia from 1st January 2023. The offer would make Cristiano Ronaldo the highest-paid athlete overtaking his arch-rival Lionel Messi.
Although new reports are stating otherwise. First, Piers Morgan said that Ronaldo hasn’t accepted the offer yet. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, too, said the player is yet to respond, and his primary focus is on the FIFA World Cup. Now Ronaldo himself has shed light on the transfer speculations after the game against Switzerland.

Portugal took on Switzerland in the last group of 16 game. Cristiano Ronaldo was not in the starting line-up for the game and came off the bench in Portugal’s 6-1 victory over Switzerland. It was after the match Ronaldo spoke briefly about the offer.

Ronaldo has accepted that a $200 million a year offer from Al Nassr for two and a half years is on the table. Although, he was quick to rubbish the reports of his acceptance of the offer. He said, “No, that’s not true — not true.”

Ronaldo is a free agent after ending his contract with Manchester United mutually. The player is subject to the speculation of many rumors about his future, as there are no European clubs linked. Many believe Ronaldo’s future is outside Europe, and the offer from Al Nassr fueled the speculations. It will be interesting to see now after the player himself denies the reports of his acceptance of the offer.
What the future holds for Ronaldo?
Cristiano Ronaldo was on the bench for the Switzerland game. The alleged reason has been his angry reactions after Santos took him off in the 65th against South Korea. But, obviously is a strategic move rather than a reaction to some irrelevant outburst after the South Korea game. Ronaldo himself denied that the reaction was not for the Portuguese coach. He was angry at the Korean player asking him to leave the field quickly.
Although Santos agreed with the player first, later in the press conference before the Switzerland game, he was unhappy at the player’s reaction. Fernando Santos further said that he can’t guarantee whether the player will start the game or not.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s primary focus, for now, is the FIFA World Cup. Portugal is in the quarterfinals and will face Morocco, who beat mighty Spain. First, the player will look to solve the differences with the Portuguese coach. With no club to play for, he will work with his agent to resolve his future.
