The Football League era for Wrexham AFC has begun! The Welsh side kicked off their campaign against MK Dons in the league, but it evidently wasn’t the start they were looking for. Meanwhile, their star player, Paul Mullin, was also missing from the clash. Interestingly, the striker doesn’t seem to pick up calls now.

The Red Dragons traveled to the U.S. pre-season tour with a full squad but had to come home without Mullin. The forward suffered a punctured lung injury that he sustained during a game against Manchester United. While he is in California and the team is back in town, it seems he isn’t answering his calls now.

After a poor loss in the opening game against MK Dons, Wrexham played their EFL Cup first-round fixture. That ended on a high note as they beat Wigan Athletic 4-2 on penalties. Following the match, Phil Parkinson was taken aside as a few Star Sports pundits picked his brain.

When the talk of Mullin came, the 55-year-old revealed the Red Dragon’s star isn’t answering his calls. “We’re gonna get Mulls back from California first. He hasn’t been answering his phone for a few days. He’ll be back soon and when he comes back in the next few days, we’ll assess, and let his specialist see how long he’s gonna be out for.”

Mullin not picking up calls was eventually cleared out by the striker himself. The 28-year-old forward replied to Parkinson’s word with a hilarious four-word response. He posted a picture of himself inside the airplane with his thumbs up and wrote, “BRB, data ran out.” Indeed, it was quite a cheeky response from the Red’s star. The picture also suggests that the striker is on his way back to Wrexham.

Parkinson must be relieved to see Mullin’s response. After all, he is the star of the club. In fact, he seems to have found solace in the form of his boss, Ryan Reynolds. Surprisingly, Mullin asked the Deadpool star to rub his foot!

Paul Mullin asked Ryan Reynolds to massage his foot!

In a recent interview during Wrexham’s season opener against MK Dons, an interesting anecdote came to light. While McElhenney revealed he gave the injured striker a place to stay at his house, which the striker denied, Reynolds jokingly stated that Mullin had asked him to massage his foot. Reynolds humorously recounted, “It’s weird because when I was looking after him, he would say to me every day, ‘Ryan, rub my golden foot.’ I would respond, ‘What? No, these ribs are the problem.’”

McElhenney asked if he really did it to which the Deadpool star replied, “Of course, I did. It was a privilege”. While the reason for Mullin’s peculiar request remains unknown, the mere idea of Reynolds massaging his foot is both odd and entertaining.
