It is highly praiseworthy how Cristiano Ronaldo makes his presence felt. The player turned 39 this year but is still the Saudi Pro League’s highest scorer with 23 goals this season. But that’s just one of the many reasons why he is so impactful in the sport. An Argentine soccer star has now revealed he considers CR7 as the real GOAT citing an incredible attribute of the Portuguese captain.

Hailing from Ronaldo’s archrival Lionel Messi’s country, former Al Nassr goalkeeper, Agustin Rossi claimed that his former captain’s mentality trumps others. Recently Rossi was quoted saying, “The legend Cristiano Ronaldo is the GOAT. He never liked to lose in matches and training. He was very strict,” citing his hunger to win.

Rossi is not the first one to point out Cristiano’s approach. The 39-year-old is known to be a mentality monster, and both his club and the national team coaches have testified about it. Roberto Martinez, a few weeks ago stated that the hunger Ronaldo possesses to win is what still drives the star at this age.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has proved himself yet against by scoring 54 goals in 2023. A lot more than those plying their trade in Europe, including Erling Haaland and Harry Kane. Being a part of this journey itself was a great moment for the Argentinian keeper who played 6 games with CR7 in the SPL, not losing a single game.

Rossi was Al Nassr’s goalkeeper for a brief period in 2023, arriving on a loan from Boca Juniors before leaving for Flamingo on a transfer. It was during this phase that the young goalkeeper became a fan of Ronaldo’s attitude. Moreover, the 29-year-old said, “It is true that it was a short period with Al Nassr, but participating alongside the legend Cristiano Ronaldo is incredible and I will never forget it.” However, Cristiano’s winning mentality will be put to the test this season.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, is proving why he is considered by many as the GOAT by scoring goals for both country and club. However, the star would need support from his club teammates to win titles this time, as Soccer is a team sport after all.
