It’s once again that time of the year when club soccer will take some rest. The international friendlies have arrived again, and the players are expected to shift to their national teams. With striking fixtures lined up, Cristiano Ronaldo has a chance to detox his mind after a disappointing month with Al Nassr. With Portugal playing Sweden tonight, will Ronaldo be a part of the team despite his recent swollen feet?

Portugal’s coach, Roberto Martinez, has a lot of hope on CR7. Initially, the player was included in their squad for the games this month against Sweden and Slovenia. However, reports suggest that the Portuguese captain will miss the game against Sweden and was excused by the coach. Anyway, his absence has nothing to do with any injury, but the Al Nassr captain is on a family vacation to Ummahat Island in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese squad has been cut down from 32 to 24 for the game against Sweden. It’s just not the injury concerns of the all-time highest goalscorer. Portugal will be heading in for the clash without the stars, Diogo Dalot, João Cancelo, Danilo Pereira, Otavio, Rúben Neves, Vitinha, and João Félix. With the club games ending just a few days ago, the stars are expected to return before the next match scheduled for March 26.

On the other hand, the striker at a club level faced a few setbacks in March, with Al Nassr bowing out of the AFC Champions League and distancing itself further in the SPL points table. The holiday looks like a much-needed rest for the star before returning to the national team camp during a considerably crucial period.

The swollen feet of Cristiano Ronaldo may give you a reality check

It will be the last international break before the 2024 Euros, although a few warm-up games are scheduled before the tournament. Nevertheless, it has to be seen how ready Cristiano Ronaldo would be to face Slovenia. A few days ago, his Instagram story showed his swollen feet during a recovery session, which concerned the fans a little. But whether it is severe enough to interfere in the subsequent games for Portugal is unknown.

Meanwhile, the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner suffered some injury scares earlier this year. Al Nassr had to cancel their China tour due to his calf injury, which also resulted in him omitting the last dance against Lionel Messi. Ultimately, the Portuguese coach would not like to add unnecessary street on his captain now, as his presence would be needed for the team.
