But in the latter half of 2022, things started to turn sore for the club and its legend. Ronaldo wanted a transfer out of the club in search of Champions League soccer but hit the dead end. The player didn’t travel with the squad for pre-season, citing personal reasons. And when he returned for a regular season, got benched by newly appointed manager Erik ten Hag.
