The Italian soccer club Juventus, where Cristiano Ronaldo spent three years of his career from 2018 to 2021, is in the midst of a financial scandal. The Bianconeri has lost more than 20% of its value on the stock market amid accusations of money laundering.

It all started, when the $2.45 billion club was caught in a financial scandal and accused of money laundering in transfers for making a profit for themselves. After this was found several heads of the club’s management were put on arrest and banned from soccer.

Juventus is in shambles

The Italian Football Federation also decided to deduct 15 points from Juventus in the Serie A. This saw the club fall from third to 10th place. Now, the situation has gotten worse for the club and its fans. Within a week of the scandal being made public, the club’s share price plummeted by 20%.

Juventus is now long odds-on to win the league title. And may even miss out on qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. This is a huge blow for a club that was, until recently, one of the most successful in Italian soccer. With Ronaldo no longer at the club and its reputation in tatters, it remains to be seen how Juventus will recover from this scandal.
