Sam Kerr has become the new star of the Netflix documentary ‘Under Pressure‘. While the documentary primarily focuses on the journey of the USWNT to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, it was Kerr who managed to steal the spotlight in the first episode. In a hilarious fashion, she playfully trolled Kristie Mewis, and the rest of the USWNT for their goal-conceding problem.

Just last month, Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis announced their engagement after more than two years of being in a relationship. Their life together was also featured in the documentary, shedding light on the dynamics of their unique partnership.

In the first episode of ‘Under Pressure’, viewers are given a glimpse of Kerr and Mewis attending a family gathering. It is during this scene that the Australian international decides to inject some lighthearted banter into the conversation. She playfully says, “Did you know you guys have conceded eight goals this year, four of set pieces, corners to be exact?”

“That’s horrific,” adds Kerr. “Half your goals come off corners. Do you not work on it?” The Chelsea star then follows up with a cheeky remark, saying, “You were front post, if you’d jumped a little bit higher it wouldn’t have got to the middle of the goal.” Kerr then went on to conclude her banter, stating, “I’m joking, it had nothing to do with you.”

The forward’s remarks caught Mewis off guard who replied with, “That was an attack, that was cruel.” Despite the initial shock, the USWNT midfielder did get back on her fiance later. Speaking highly of her sister, Sam Mewis, she exclaimed, “She’s the best player I’ve ever seen, she’s so good.”

This remark left the 30-year-old surprised, who replied, “Huh? That’s what you say to me! I’m joking, I’m joking.” Sam Kerr’s amusing troll and Kristie Mewis’s witty comeback added a touch of humor to the otherwise serious theme of the documentary. One of these serious moments came in episode 4 when USWNT legend Carli Lloyd discussed the criticism she faced following her comments about the team.

In the documentary, Lloyd discussed the criticism and affirmed that she has no regrets about her statements. In her words, “My job is to say what I feel, and I’m not afraid to say what I feel.” While Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis provided a lighthearted perspective on the USWNT’s story, this incident shed light on a more serious aspect.
