The 2023/24 Premier League cannot come soon enough. Soccer teams have spent millions to bolster their squad, and Arsenal is one club that looks to dominate. They have spent millions on top-class players like Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz arriving at the club. However, the recent pre-season friendly against Manchester United saw the club lose 2-0 to the Red Devils. Hence, one can say the process is slow, and it will take time for the team to gel with their new signings. But the controversial moment in the friendly came to their $85.4 million man.

Watching his performance, the Manchester United commentators explained how he was “rubbish” in the game. The declaration of the donkey being his favorite animal makes things harder for the German player, who received criticism for his performance.

In the 48th minute of the match, when Arsenal trailed 2-0 to United, the commentator stated, “Well, I’d have just taken Kai Havertz off because he’s rubbish!” Commentator Ben Thornley spoke about Havertz while commentating on the match. Meanwhile, the co-commentator Stewart Gardner retaliated by stating, “What have you got against Kai Havertz?” It became a hilarious exchange of opinions, with Ben shocked by the performance levels of the German.

Arsenal lost the game with goals from Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes, leading United to a sensational victory. With Arsenal blending their latest recruits into the team, Havertz’s performance came to the limelight. The commentator’s call also irked fans online stating how unprofessional it was. The comment takes it to another level when he revealed his love for donkeys. It is an animal that raises eyebrows due to the surrounding stigma.

Although it is calm, peaceful, and minds its own business, when one loves donkeys, we often dub them to be foolish. So not the case! It’s a very calm animal: maybe I personalised myself in them because I’m calm too.” But never judge a player soon. He is one of the top talents in soccer.

How good is Kai Havertz?

After Granit Xhaka left the club, Arsenal brought in Havertz to improve their midfield. He plays everywhere across the front three and in the number 10 position. With Arteta using Xhaka in the central midfield, using Havertz is an option he is looking forward to after the former Arsenal captain left the club. Xhaka came up with vital goals for the club with that advanced role in the midfield. He would often take up attacking positions and affected the team with his influence.
