Everyone is aware of Ryan’s interest in acquiring the Ottawa Senators. However, nothing is certain regarding the process, but the NHL commissioner, Gary Bettman, has revealed that the sale of the Senators is in its second stage. “We’re not on the clock, the goal is to get it right. And if it takes a little longer, it takes a little longer,” Bettman said.

“Once we get to the anointed party, then you’ve got to go through the lawyers doing contracts. And we have a league approval process to get through. And there is still two to three months of work to be done,” he added.

Bettman says it might take a few months, as he has some advice for the Ottawa fans. “So everybody take a deep breath, Sit back and we’ll get through this process and we’re going to come out of it on the other side with a really good strong new owner.”

Bettman even revealed how keen Ryan is to buy the team. “He wants to see his bid through. He wants to take it from beginning to end,” said Bettman. “And as I said I respect his view of the process and I wish him good luck.”
