The next World Cup destination is confirmed as Morocco, Spain, and Portugal win the bid to host the 2030 World Cup. What’s more exciting is that it will be the first WC that will be held across three continents with three of the first opening matches to be played in Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina. Right after the announcement, Saudi Arabia also declared they are going to bid for the 2034 WC. Karim Benzema and Riyad Mahrez sent their regards to Saudi Arabia. However, a former Algerian soccer player turned sports journalist has a different view of it.

Saudi Arabia in a bid to win the bid for 2034 WC also plans to lift the ban on alcohol consumption in their country for the fans and supporters. It is rumored that they will allow booze to be sold in restricted fan zones and hotels.

Hafid Derradji, a reputed journalist who has worked with Al Jazeera and BeIN Sports, perceives a different kind of World Cup if Saudi Arabia wins their bid for hosting the FIFA World Cup 2034. He thinks the venue selection might turn out to be like in the case of Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina.

Hafid Derradji sheds more light on Saudi Arabia’s bid for the 2034 WC as he said, “I believe that Saudi Arabia is unable to host the 2034 World Cup alone”. Derradji’s statement meant that there could be an adjustment made as has been done with the 2030 bid, where the 3 opening matches will be played in South America.
