Scotland star Calum McGregor touched down on Haaland’s absence during his press conference before the game. The player stated that he would have loved to face the Manchester City star, but he and his team would like a chance to win the game.

McGregor stated, “Yes, it’s about both. Obviously, he’s a top player. He’s a highest-level scorer, and scores goals for fun. So it’s always good to test yourself against the best players. But on the flip side of that, we want to win the game and if they missing their top player, their talisman, then that’s good news as well.”

Manchester City will be worried about their talisman, with the team set to face Liverpool in their upcoming encounter.

The Cityzens will keep a keen eye on their Norwegian striker’s situation. Haaland has been in red-hot form this season and his absence for Pep Guardiola’s men with 13 goals in the Premier League. The player found a crucial brace in the team’s last game against Chelsea helping his side find a 4-4 draw.

However, the team will be worried about the situation with Haaland taken off his game due to an ankle injury. Norway’s medical staff has reported that the player has injured the same ankle that has given him trouble in the past.

“I haven’t spoken to @ErlingHaaland, but I saw he was walking fine in the hallway. There is a recovery session, and then he’ll probably be looked after by Ola and physios throughout the day. Right now, it looks like it’s going well.”
