Eden Hazard remains one of the best signings for Chelsea in their club history. But, unfortunately, it did not work out for him at Real Madrid. He made the decision to retire from playing soccer. Now an ex-Chelsea star has revealed the Belgian calling and telling him to ‘stop talking sh*t’ about him and the Saudi offers.

Hazard was essential for the Blues in winning plenty of trophies in all the competitions. This is the reason many wanted him to stay for the rest of his career. However, after four years in Real Madrid failing to prove his expertise as expected, last month, he decided to retire.

Eden Hazard was Chelsea’s main man on the pitch for many seasons. During his time in the Premier League, he also became one of the best wingers in the league. But, to the surprise of many soccer fans, Blues legend John Obi-Mikel has revealed in a number of interviews that he was the laziest and poorest player in training. He has also recalled how he ended up having a hilarious call with Hazard after the Belgian watched his interviews.

John Obi-Mikel, in his conversation with Rio Ferdinand, revealed, “I had a phone call with him(Hazard). First of all, I called, but he didn’t give an answer. Then, the next day I called, he picked up and started saying, You, You’re talking so much sh*t about me. And then I was like I am not talking sh*t about you. I am only saying how good you were because you achieved all without putting an effort. Imagine, if you had put an effort.”

Rio Ferdinand also asked him whether the senior players at Chelsea tried to force him to train well. The Blues legend revealed Eden Hazard would not listen to the advice of anyone including the club captain at that time, John Terry.

In his 352 appearances, Eden Hazard scored 110 goals and provided 92 assists for the Blues. The Belgian won 2 Premier League titles, 2 Europa League titles, 1 FA Cup, and 1 Carabao Cup.

Furthermore, Mikel also cleared the air about Hazard’s Saudi link-up rumors.

The Nigerian has also recalled their conversation about his Real Madrid career. John Obi-Mikel revealed Hazard saying, “When I went to Madrid, I looked at myself and was like ok, let me try, let me give it a go, let me put some effort in. But then I started getting injuries, my body couldn’t take it.” Eden Hazard wanted Real Madrid as his dream move. But, the stint did not work out.

John Obi-Mikel has also revealed Hazard’s decision not to go to the Saudi League. He made the decision to reject big money offers to spend with family. “Should I go to Saudi Arabia, where I’m going to take a million a week, and then what? I got about two or three offers to go to Saudi Arabia.’ He said, ‘Mikel, I’ve got a lot of money.’, ‘You know how I live my life.’. “I don’t spend too much money.’ “So, I have money now to live with my family and to bring up [my children].”

Be that as it may, Chelsea fans will remember Eden Hazard as their ultimate warrior. He has earned the right to have the status of not just a legend of the club, but the Premier League as well.
