Wrexham AFC won’t be stopping after winning promotion. The Welsh side is desperate to continue their empathic form and attempt back-to-back promotions. While there’s still a lot of time to reach the Premier League, they are primarily focused on the upcoming season. Hence, the Red Dragons have already started preparing for life in League Two.

While making tactical adjustments and learning from previous mistakes will help significantly, revamping the squad is also on the cards. Reynolds is already making a list of potential targets. While the search for new additions continues, one former Premier League star recently rejected the Dragons’ approach to signing for their rivals.

Wrexham face yet another rejection as former Cyrtal Palce star Johnny Williams has signed for League Two side Brentford. The Welsh midfielder will be leaving Swindon Town to sign a three-year deal with the Bees. He has chosen to sign for Reynolds’ fourth-division rivals and will not be a part of the Hollywood project.

Phil Parkinson’s side was keen to bring the Wales star to Racecourse Ground, with the player rejecting the move. As stated by the Sun, Williams also turned down offers from League One side Northampton and other League Two clubs, including Notts County and Gillingham.

Nevertheless, it seems he’ll be playing for Mark Hughes’ side, who are desperate for promotion. They lost to Carlisle in the promotion play-offs. Williams has also played for many Championship clubs, including Ipswich, Nottingham Forest, MK Dons, and Sunderland. He enjoyed an eight-year stint with Crystal Palace while making several loan moves.

He has made 33 appearances for his country and participated in two Euro finals in 2016 and 2020. He also played in the previous year’s World Cup before deciding to retire from international football in March. Either way, it is a major upset for Reynolds, who also faced rejection from Welsh soccer legend Gareth Bale.

Gareth Bale rejected Ryan Reynolds’ and Rob McElhenney’s offer

This isn’t the only rejection Reynolds and McElhenney faced, as they also got rejected by Gareth Bale. The former Real Madrid star was being persuaded by the Hollywood star to join them at the Racecourse. This occurred following a lighthearted exchange between the three, during which the owners urged Bale to consider a remarkable return to soccer.

The Hollywood buddies made genuine commitments to Bale and encouraged him to continue playing for at least another season. Regrettably, the Welsh player declined their proposal, stating his exclusive focus on golf. Nevertheless, Reynolds appears to have moved on from Bale and is now exploring other possibilities.
