“If They Call Me…” – Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola Drops Bombshell Hint as He Teases a Move to $5 Billion Team

Pep Guardiola is one of the best soccer managers in the world. The Catalonian soccer manager has managed several top clubs from across the soccer universe. While Guardiola is currently in his 7 year at Manchester City, the Catalonian hasn’t ruled out a move back to his boyhood club once again. Guardiola’s Manchester City has won numerous accolades during these last seven years.

Having achieved almost everything other than a UEFA Champions League trophy, Guardiola has kept his window open for the possibility of a new challenge at some other soccer club.

Guardiola will go back to Barcelona if they call him!

In a recent press conference, Guardiola spoke very highly of his former assistant coach, Mikel Arteta. Arteta currently serves as the manager of Arsenal who is sitting at the top of the points table. The Catalonian was speaking about how he noticed that Arteta always had a soft corner for the Gunners. He also mentioned that Arteta would never celebrate when City scored against Arsenal. That’s when Guardiola realized that the Gunners meant a lot to him.

However, while praising Arteta, Guardiola seems to have given a hint to the rest of the soccer universe. During a recent press conference, while talking about Arteta’s move to Arsenal, the Catalonian explained the way he would have reacted if Barcelona came looking for him.

Guardiola told the media, “I don’t care which team I coach. Whether it’s here at Man City or another team. Barcelona is my club and if they call me, I will come back”. In 2022, Guardiola extended his current contract with Manchester City by two more years till 2025. The Catalonian seems to be extremely happy sitting on the Blue side of Manchester. He has successfully managed to repeatedly build a team that could win the league year after year.

It’s safe to say that the former Barcelona man has already created a rich soccer legacy at Manchester City. Even after not winning the Champions League after multiple attempts, the local fans seem to be happy with the tons of domestic success that Guardiola helped the club achieve.

Pep Guardiola’s soccer legacy at Manchester City

Barcelona was very fond of Guardiola since the days he was a player. The Spanish soccer giants appointed him as Barcelona B’s head coach for a year before giving him access to the first team. After creating a soccer legacy that will always be remembered at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Manchester City announced the arrival of Pep Guardiola in 2016 and the rest is history.

The Catalonian has won four league titles, four Carabao Cups, and an FA Cup at Manchester City to date. In just his third season, Guardiola managed to win the domestic treble. He had made it impossible for anyone to beat Manchester City. He also managed to guide the club to their first Champions League final in 2021, which they, unfortunately, lost to Chelsea.
