Cristiano Ronaldo is all set to start new innings in Asian soccer

Ronaldo signing for Al Nassr means his adventure in European soccer might have ended. The two-and-a-half-year deal means he will be in Saudi Arabia until he is 40. However, he now is the highest-paid athlete in the world with a deal that could potentially earn $500 million.

The club intends to keep Ronaldo beyond 2025. There’s a separate clause in the contract. If accepted, the Portuguese will act as an ambassador to Saudi Arabia’s bid for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The deal will be from 2025 to 2030.

However, Ronaldo can potentially take on his arch-rival Lionel Messi. If PSG decides to visit Riyadh to play a one-off friendly in Riyadh Season’s Cup, we can see the potential match-up. PSG will be taking on a combined team of Al Hilal and Al Nassr, and Ronaldo could be a part of it.

It will be interesting to see how long he continues with the national team, and the appointment of a new manager might be deciding factor. UEFA Euro is in 2024 and we can expect the five-time Ballon d’Or to play till then.
