Have you ever seen so much of nonchalance that makes you envious? Erling Haaland has been one of the most dangerous players in recent times. The Norwegian is one of the most prominent goalscorers everywhere he goes. But how does the player score goals with such ease? The player, however, can sometimes go empty-handed, which brings all the attention towards him. The player recently revealed why he isn’t the most involved in the team’s build-up play while explaining how he ‘zones out’ during the game.

Pep Guardiola‘s Manchester City has talented midfielders that usually help the forward. With world-class playmakers like Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, and Phil Foden, Haaland thrived on scoring big numbers last season. However, this year, it has slowed down just a little, with a few of his team members being injured.

Fans usually criticize Erling Haaland for lack of playmaking ability. But when he is successful in scoring goals, he does it with ease. The well-built Norwegian is gifted with good reach and hence depends on it rather than putting over effort. In a recent interview, Haaland explains what he thinks during the game, which enables him to score.

According to the Telegraph, Haaland said, “I go out of my body and become a zombie. It’s kind of a bit of a ‘zone out’. Like looking around. Waiting for the chance. And when the chance comes I know I have to be ready, you know?”

The Norwegian proclaims that he thinks entirely differently while on the field becoming like a zombie, looking for the perfect opportunity to score. Sounds Lionel Messi-like, but the Argentine also does that in the whole pitch. Even though Halland provides sublime finishes, it can fail when the midfield doesn’t provide you with balls inside the box.

Even though he is aware of what happens in the game, the forward claims to think differently than usual. He is always waiting in those areas where the ball comes his way to put it into the net. Instead of running with the ball the whole pitch, he prefers walking around and scoring at the right time.

Haaland doesn’t touch the ball much

Haaland agreed to be criticized for not playing with the ball much. The 6 feet 4-inch striker doesn’t worry about spending more time with the ball either. The UEFA Player of the Year winner stated, “In the games, normally people criticize me for not touching the ball. I can drop in and touch the ball a couple of times, but I am just kind of walking around, standing up there, making movements in my own world.”

Currently considered the best striker in the world, Erling Haaland likes to walk around and take the correct positions. He feels that there are enough players in the team to set up the play, and he does not need to do it. Well, Manchester City’s management will obviously be okay until they get the results, and currently, it is working for them. Any thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
