He later praised Gill for carrying himself in the best way possible and managing the team like nobody else could. Ferdinand added, “He was very visible. We see him. He was in the training ground. He was at the games and you’re having conversations.“

Later, he detailed the key role Alex Ferguson played at United along with Gill. The former center-back added, “When Sir Alex Ferguson left the club, there definitely was a drop but at the same time David Gill was a key part of that as well and he went at the same time.” Ever since Alex Ferguson and David Gill set foot in Manchester United, they began to call it a family and demanded absolute loyalty from the players, which helped in the tremendous growth of the club.
