While Shakira and her kids Milan and Sasha were present at the event in New Jersey, it seems their father and the singer’s ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique was busy with his own thoughts.

Despite Shakira and Gerard Pique coming to a compromise regarding the custody of their kids and where they will be spending Christmas vacations, it seems the duo still have a few reservations.

Former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has not backed down from any confrontation following his split with Shakira. The soccer star has been at constant odds with his ex-girlfriend. The former couple are back at it, despite agreeing on brokering peace. Shakira was present at the MTV VMA’s awards this week, with the star attending the event alongside her children.

Following, Shakira’s performance, Gerard Pique put out an interesting tweet from his official X handle. The star just mentioned “GG” in a cryptic tweet, which is tough to interpret for anyone at this stage. While this could be Gerard Pique praising Shakira for a big achievement at the show, he could, quite funnily, be talking about a casual ‘good game’ with Pique known to be a video game fan.

Shakira was presented with the award for her outstanding contribution to the field. The Colombian singer is the first Latin American to receive the Vanguard Music Award. The Colombian was full of emotions when she received the award as she thanked her supporters.

“I want to share this award with my fans, who always support me through thick and thin. Thank you so much for being my army and helping me fight all my battles. This is for my people. The Latin American people inside and outside of this country, thank you for inspiring me and injecting me with so much power and will to keep going. I love you.”

While her music career has been rejuvenated, the singer will still have to mend her relationship with her former boyfriend. Previously, the duo decided to wave a white flag for the sake of their children, but it seems they are once again back to square one.
