Wrexham has managed to do the impossible and ended the town’s 15-year wait for the promotion. Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds bought the club in 2020 and the fortunes have changed for the Red Dragons since then. They have now been promoted after beating Boreham Wood 3-1 in a scintillating 2nd half comeback. Hours after celebrating the league championship, Rob took to social media to detail his new addiction.

While the credit goes out to the amazing star players, the owners are the ones who put their faith in the club 2 years ago. Both Ryan and Rob have been phenomenal in supporting the club off the field. However, it seems that investing and supporting Wrexham has led to a ‘problem’ for Rob McElhenney.

“I have a problem. I am addicted to watching @Wrexham_AFC videos. Please send help,” McElhenney’s tweet read.

However, not just Rob, that has probably been the case for almost all Wrexham fans. The Racecourse will now host EFL matches from next season and the Red Dragons will now have a different target in mind.

Wrexham already boasts a top-class roster that can give a tough fight to several EFL teams. But if they want to target League One, they have to strengthen their roster in the upcoming summer window.

For now, the team will pause their celebrations and focus on Torquay United, their last game of the season. Torquay currently sits in the relegation and would be expecting Wrexham to field a weaker XI. However, it will solely be coach Phil Parksinson’s decision to field the lineup and we could see some new faces in the lineup.
