Harry Kane bid adieu to Tottenham Hotspur and moved to Bayern Munich in a $127,000,000 million transfer. Thomas Tuchel got his ace striker after long and tedious negotiations with Daniel Levy, the chairman of Hotspur. The striker scored 213 goals in the 317 appearances he made for the club. With such an impressive goal-scoring record and being one of the most consistent players, Bayern had to naturally break the bank to sign the Englishman.

In a recent interview, Kane seemed to be pleased with his move to the Allianz Arena. He even went on to compare his transfer to David Beckham’s move to Real Madrid. Let’s hear what Harry Kane had to say to his fans.

A lack of club achievements and constant managerial changes only fueled Kane’s hunger to look for a switch. When asked about his journey from London to Munich, the English striker said, “Maybe my journey here can be an inspiration for the younger (English) players to do the same and take that step. I remember David Beckham making the move from Manchester United to Real Madrid.”

Watching the best English midfielder of his time make a switch to Spanish giant Real Madrid fascinated a young Harry Kane. He added, “I was a kid and I was like, ‘Wow, what an amazing experience.” Bayern Munich’s history and achievements were enough to convince Harry Kane that it was time to make a switch.

The English striker has many personal accolades but Tottenham has been unlucky when it comes to club achievements. Tottenham’s last trophy came 15 years ago when they won the Audi Cup (now called the Carabao Cup). The trophy drought has people questioning if the club is cursed. But things are looking likely to change with new gaffer Ange Postecoglou at the wheel.

Postecoglou’s new Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou, the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has been widely regarded as a manager for clubs in tough situations. Postecoglou’s managerial run has been nothing short of amazing. He won the 2015 AFC Asian Cup with Australia, then headed to Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos, securing their first league title in 15 years. Postecoglou’s most famous stint was with Scottish Club Celtic, with which he went on to win the league title for two consecutive years.

The Australian manager was then scouted by Tottenham Hotspur, who signed him on a four-year contract. Postecoglou and Spurs have started the season well. The squad is well-fitted for his tactics and has won two and drawn one in their opening three fixtures.
