The distress was exacerbated, as certain private information was leaked to the media after the defeat. Following the incident, Brazil are yet to appoint a psychologist for their national team with Neymar said to be firmly against an appointment.
Things have changed in the past ten years. Mental health is now a key factor that is being acknowledged in soccer. It, however, seems like the Selecao stars are still not ready to look past the 2014 incident that caused emotional turbulence within the team.

According to journalist Cosme Rímoli, Neymar is strongly against the appointment of a psychologist. The Al-Hilal star is still a key figure in the dressing room with his words holding immense value.
It has been also reported that the player believes, “I’m not crazy, I don’t need a psychologist.”
