After four goalless games, Kylian Mbappe scored as Paris Saint Germain won against Strasbourg in Ligue 1. The goal will give the French soccer player newfound self-belief after early season struggles. However, amid all the praise, a soccer analyst said that Mbappe only scored a penalty goal to subdue the praise.

The Frenchman hopes to inspire his team to another Ligue 1 title. However, the 11x Ligue 1 victors are struggling in the third place. Yet, the performances of the 24YO came into the limelight as analysts remained unhappy. The road to redemption has its thorns on the way, after all.

The former Monaco man scored a penalty as Paris Saint Germain defeated Strasbourg 3-0 in the Ligue 1. A clumsy challenge from Junior Mwanga on Goncalo Ramos earned PSG a penalty. Mbappe stepped up and lashed it home. Hence, this will be the first of many for the French forward who lost confidence in the early parts of the season. But, it looks like an analyst is unhappy with the heavy praise for Kylian Mbappe. For a player dubbed the best in the world, going on a four-game scoreless run left Gab Marcotti unimpressed!

ESPN soccer analyst Julien Laurens praised Mbappe, stating, “Kylian scored again after four games with PSG without scoring.” However, analyst Gab Marcotti replied, “It was a penalty”.

The Kylian Mbappe transfer rumors continue to disrupt the season

There are solid rumors that Mbappe dares to dream of a move to Real Madrid after showcasing his intentions in the summer. Regardless, the move failed to materialize. Kylian Mbappe also received offers from Al Hilal of the Saudi Pro League. But the French forward immediately rejected the advances, as he preferred to resume his career in Europe. Notably, the Paris Saint Germain ownership also integrated him back into the first team after making him train with the youth team during the bizarre transfer window. For the fans, it comes as great news!

It probably means the contract conversations of Kylian Mbappe and PSG are going in the right direction. However, Spanish media stated how Mbappe rejected multiple contract extensions from Paris Saint Germain. The word on the street probably became the vital reason for PSG’s gloomy start to the season. Moreover, several PSG top executives remain confused about the long-term future of the French soccer star with the club. In fact, Real Madrid is also waiting for the final decision of the forward.
