La Liga in Spain might not match the Premier League in England with its resources of funds available. However, Real Madrid‘s squad boasts some of the world’s best soccer players. Los Blancos signed Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund for a fee in the region of $109 million earlier this summer. But now, the head of La Liga has suggested that Madrid still have the financial capability to splurge on PSG star forward Kylian Mbappe.

The La Liga boss is none other than Javier Tebas, who has stated that Real Madrid are in a strong position to sign Mbappe. This comes shortly after La Liga released their list of spending caps for Spanish clubs. The figures have revealed that Real Madrid have $775.5 million available, which puts them in the front seat to sign Mbappe.

According to a report in Spanish media outlet Sport, Tebas said, “With the salary limit that Real Madrid has, it was enough for Mbappé and another player.”

Mbappe showed the world what he is capable of at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The Frenchman scored a hat-trick in the final but eventually lost on penalties to Messi’s Argentina. Mbappe’s remarkable showing at the World Cup further elevated his transfer value going into the summer. But Real Madrid couldn’t lure the Frenchman to Madrid, but as these reports suggest, they do have the finances available.

According to the La Liga report Barcelona’s salary cap reduced from $692 million to $288 million. According to a report in ESPN, these caps are: “The maximum amount clubs should spend on wages, bonuses and amortisation payments on transfers across a season, not how much they are necessarily spending. Clubs that breach their limit are subject to spending restrictions.”
