It’s been months since Jadon Sancho played for Manchester United. The English winger was reportedly engaged in a feud with manager Erik ten Hag over comments related to his performances. This resulted in him being exiled from the first team with no clarity on his future at the club. However, recent reports have emerged that Sancho might be heading to FC Barcelona soon.

Sancho’s attitude has since been criticized by many including Nemanja Matic and Club legend Roy Keane. Hence, the future might be better elsewhere for the 23-year-old Englishman.

Manchester United wants to use Jadon Sancho in swap deal with Barcelona winger per reports

As per Diario Sport, Manchester United are exploring the possibility of a Jadon Sancho-Raphinha swap deal. The United board has seemingly accepted the fact that they will not be able to retrieve the $91m spent on the former Dortmund star. Hence, the swap involving the Brazilian winger makes sense considering they both cost big transfer fees to the clubs. However, the final say remains with Sporting Director Deco and it will be interesting to see his decision on the matter.

Raphinha arrived in Barcelona following a successful stint at Leeds United. The Brazilian had an inconsistent first season with just 7 goals in 36 La Liga matches. However, a year on and his situation has not changed much with him recording just 2 goals so far in the league. Hence, they would not be satisfied with their $65 million signing so far.

Compared to Raphinha, Sancho is 3 years younger and his situation at United means Barcelona have a younger and talented replacement available on the cheap. Moreover, Sancho is equally comfortable playing on both the wings. This is a huge advantage for Barcelona considering how Raphinha is predominantly a right winger.

Nemanja Matic revealed the Sancho incident that left him ‘angry’

Nemanja Matic and Jadon Sancho were teammates in the 21/22 season. As per Matic, Sancho, Pogba and a couple of other players were always late for training. Matic also revealed that such situations were unheard of at his previous club, Chelsea.

Matic added that this incident angered players who were punctual like himself. Hence, they formed an internal disciplinary committee and collected fines from the latecomers. An interesting insight into the attitude of the United players.
