The soccer clubs of Saudi Arabia are not resting on their laurels. After signing the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo, the league prepares to attract players with several years of playing experience. Their list of players includes Kevin De Bruyne, the 4th-ranked soccer star in the Ballon d’Or. The Saudis were highly interested in De Bryune and wanted him to follow in the footsteps of CR7. However, the 32-year-old is not ready to leave Manchester City in search of greener pastures.

Ronaldo’s club, Al-Nassr, wanted the Belgian star to join them for a whopping $75 million. However, it seems that De Bryune remains committed to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and has his goals set with his current club. Let’s dive deeper to explore why De Bruyne is disinterested in broadening his horizons by joining the Saudi Arabian club.

Renowned journalist Rudy Galetti took to X to inform the latest decision of Kevin De Bryune regarding the transfer to the Saudi Arabian club. He wrote, “After the first approach, #DeBruyne informed the [Saudi] negotiator and the representatives of #AlNassr that he wants to remain fully focused on #MCFC until the end of the season.” However, this does not mean that he will never consider a move to the Gulf. The discussion between the two parties will resume in the coming months.

Even though De Bruyne wants no more negotiations, Al Nassr is confident about persuading the Belgian star to join them later. If he decided to make the big move to the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr fans would see him join forces with Ronaldo and Sadio Mane. Moreover, he would be reuniting with former City teammate Aymeric Laporte, who joined Al-Nassr.

Yet, Kevin De Bruyne’s expectations for the 2023–24 season were disrupted by a hamstring injury he incurred in the opening match against Burnley. The Belgian star has not played since, and his absence has led Pep Guardiola to consider selling him for an enormous sum. It is expected that the Saudi club will make use of this situation and bring him aboard. Currently, Al-Nassr is not only targeting Kevin De Bruyne but also Ronaldo’s Portugal teammate, Bruno Fernandes.

Saudi targets Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund is considering a move for United’s Bruno Fernandes during the upcoming summer transfer window. PIF has been the driving force behind some high-profile transfers in the Gulf country. Now, they are preparing to push the accelerator to bring in more world-class players. Furthermore, there is a high chance that the officials would probably contact Fernandes’ representatives to discuss the transfer.
