The Argentinian was not present during the wedding of his wife Antonela Roccuzzo’s sister in Rosario. However, the lucky couple was not left disappointed as the 36-year-old surprised them on Christmas Eve.

It is a tradition every year that Lionel Messi and his family travel to Argentina for the Christmas break. This time, while making sure to not break the tradition, they had a surprise up the sleeve.

Lionel Messi had a Christmas present for the newly married couple

Antonela Roccuzzo had a wedding in her family. Her sister Carla Roccuzzo got married in Rosario in a church on the 23rd of December. However, reports claim that Lionel Messi was not present at the wedding. Antonela was present with their three children at the chapel. It was also surprising because the player had traveled to Rosario with the family. But not many knew that the Argentinian had a surprise up his sleeve. He attended the after-wedding party of the couple.

It was quite a star-studded affair. Popular Argentinian band Los Totora performed at the wedding party. The band even posted a pic on social media with the Inter Miami star. They thanked the couple Carla and Damian for the invitation. The band also praised the 36-year-old forward for his simplicity throughout the party.

Carla Roccuzzo began her dentistry studies like her sister at the University of Rosario. However, unlike Antonela, she went on to finish the degree. To complete her Postgraduate degree, she moved to America. This is where she met her husband, Damián Vanzini, who is a surgeon. The couple dated for nine years before deciding to take the big step and got married in Rosario.

The couple has, in the past, made frequent visits to Argentina to visit the family. Carla Roccuzzo must have planned the wedding for the Christmas weekend keeping in mind that all her loved ones would be able to attend.
