However, the Argentine has done the unthinkable again. This time, he skipped the prestigious French soccer awards ceremony for a Coldplay concert.

What did Messi snub for a Coldplay concert?

Toward the end of every soccer season, the French soccer board organizes its own set of awards. This is mainly to award deserving candidates from Ligue 1, Ligue 2, French women’s soccer, managers, and referees in the country. The biggest stars of the French soccer league, including Kylian Mbappe had turned up for the award ceremony.

Interestingly, even Didier Deschamps and Guy Stephan were present at the event. The two of them had brought World Cup ‘Champions’ glory back to France for the first time since 1998. Without a doubt, Kylian Mbappe was one of the nominees for the best Ligue 1 player of the season. Along with him, Lionel Messi, Seko Fofana, Lois Openda, and Jonathan David were part of the nominee list.
