Lionel Messi is currently in one of the best phases of his life. The Argentinian finally managed to win his first FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year. He had to leave Paris Saint Germain after a not-so-successful stint but joined MLS side Inter Miami on a free transfer and has delivered outstanding performances whenever he played. And reasonably, this year’s Ballon d’Or nominees list also has the Argentine champion’s name on top. Now, a bombshell has been dropped about his Ballon d’Or by one of his family friends.

Messi is currently enjoying his soccer and time with his family in Miami. Hence, there are near zero chances that he will play for any club in the off-season. Erling Haaland also is a strong contender after his success with Manchester City

Manchester City also won a treble last season. Erling Haaland played a huge role in helping the club win trophy after trophy. The Norwegian striker scored 52 goals in 53 matches last season. This calculates to a goal every game for his club. However, he did not play in the World Cup as Norway did not qualify. A certain number of fans think that Messi has won the trophies and also has goals to his name to become the deserved winner this year.

They also believe that Messi’s brilliance in the tournament helped the Argentina team recover from the defeat against Saudi Arabia.
