Lionel Messi impressed everyone with his performances for Inter Miami in the first season. Therefore, the expectations for the next season from fans are sky-high. Before the season, the MLS club will play competitive friendlies to prepare for the upcoming campaign. It includes games against Saudi giants Al Nassr and Al Hilal. Hence, the Argentinian star has already planned his schedule to prepare for the friendlies and get match fitness for a crucial Inter Miami season.

Out of those friendlies, the contest between Inter Miami and Al Nassr would be the most anticipated. It could be the last time Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi come face-to-face. One Last Dance on the Cards?

Inter Miami has a very tough pre-season schedule prepared for the team. All eyes will be on the return of the 8x Ballon d’Or winner as he returns to action. The last time fans saw Lionel Messi in action was for Argentina in the historic 1-0 away win against Brazil. Since then, he has devoted his off-season to spending quality time with his wife and children. But, reports suggest that the Argentinian star will start training with the team on 10th January as they prepare for five friendlies ahead of the new season.

The five friendlies include the mega game against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in the Riyadh Cup on 29th February. They face Saudi giants Al Hilal on 1st February to end their tour. However, before they travel to Saudi Arabia, they will go to El Salvador to play against the national team on the 19th of January.

After the Saudi trip, they will fly to Hong Kong to play against the national team on the 4th of February. The Miami-based franchise will end their pre-season tour with a game against Messi’s boyhood club Newell’s Old Boys, at the DRV PNK Stadium on the 19th of February.

After they announced Lionel Messi as the Ballon d’Or winner in Paris, Inter Miami organized the Noche d’Or ceremony. Amidst fireworks and color, they presented the Ballon d’Or trophy to Messi in front of thousands. Apart from that, Argentine’s speech specifically caught the attention of the Herons fans. The 36-year-old thanked the fans for welcoming him to Miami.

Along with the thank you, he also made it clear that the team will aim to win titles in the upcoming season. He also asked for the fan’s support as they intended to support the team passionately like they always do for the next season.
