Massive Injury Update on Megan Rapinoe as USWNT Prepare for Major International Competition

Although USWNT has walked all over New Zealand in the friendlies, the team needs all players to be fit before the big tournament. Megan Rapinoe missed the matches because of an injury. There has been an update on her rehabilitation. Even before the kickoff of NWSL, USWNT will play in the SheBelieves Cup.
This tournament is the only time they will be together before the FIFA Women’s world cup in July-August. There are two weeks left and fans are hoping to see the backbone of the team to be back.

Despite being away from the team, Megan Rapinoe kept keen eyes on the matches USWNT played against New Zealand. She had called out the broadcasters of the match to talk too much about the men’s team, despite the biggest tournament of the year being just a month away. This energy and to prove the strength of the team is what fans are expecting from the two-time World Cup winner.
Megan Rapinoe recovering from the injury
Megan Rapinoe has missed a few USWNT camps as she recovers from the ankle injury. But one of the major updates on her health has come out. Her NWSL club Ol Reign’s head coach Laura Harvey talked about how prepared she is for the upcoming tournament. She talked about how Megan Rapinoe is doing since she joined the training camp at OL Reign.

According to Pro Soccer Wire, Harvey said, “We managed her January with U.S. Soccer so that she would be able to basically be fully ready to go for SheBelieves [Cup]. I think that was always the plan. And yes, she’s fully integrated with the group.” While this is good news for the Ol Reign camp, the major advantage is for USWNT.

Megan Rapinoe is back in training. However, this will not last long as on the 6th the star will have to leave Reign camp to meet with her peers in USWNT to gear up for the SheBelieves Cup.
