One of them was Shanghai Shenhua’s goalkeeper Bao Yaxiong. When he was asked about his thoughts on the cancelled friendly, he said, “This regret can only be made up for in the AFC Champions League.” If the 26-year-old goalkeeper wants to clash with Ronaldo in Asia’s top competition, he will have to unfortunately wait for the next season.

His team Shanghai Shenhua F.C. finished in third place in their Champions League group F this season. Hence, unlike Al Nassr, they failed to progress to the Round of 16. The Knights of Najd will face fellow Saudi side Al Fayha FC. But as far as the Chinese goalkeeper is concerned, it will be interesting to see whether he can fulfill his ambitions next season.
