He revealed the reason for not thinking twice before rejecting the offer from Inter Miami. In an interview, he explained the reason, “I don’t want to talk anymore. There were offers. And from this team, but I said that I came home with my soul. I have dreams in Craiova and I hope to achieve them. I took it as a challenge and hope to see it through.”

The 28-year-old Romanian also mentioned that he would rather win the league title for his boyhood club rather than play with the Argentinian. He also spoke about his experience playing in MLS during his stint with New York City FC. Alexandru pointed out that the pandemic made it challenging for him. Yet, he loved the city and his time in the league.
